If you love challenging yourself consider hardmode on Terraria. On the surface it might seem like just a harder version of the initial game, but it is much more than just that. It’s a completely new experience that even hardcore players can struggle with. We’re here to help you out in that and give the best and most informative tips for the hardmode guide.

The guide:

In addition to the 2 new biomes, which spread and can take over, the player is granted a much more challenging piece of challenge with hardmode. Corruption and Crimson can go all over the place so you need to take care of it fast. But to do so, you need to be aware of the challenges that lie ahead.

Firstly, there is a lot more to explore, so you’re going to need more time. There isn’t time to spare lurking around, you have to be accurate and dedicated to the spreading Corruption, Crimson and Hallow. With these three spreading, you should firstly protect your areas of inhabitance (use wood or clay). We recommend exploring the Hallow first as it is not only the friendliest looking, but the fairy dust can be used for health potions and other drops are extremely precious for potions. Dig down to find the best rewards, for example, when fishing, you can catch the Crystal Serpent which shoots exploding spells. Of course, don’t undermine the two other spreading biomes, but going to Hallow in the beginning might be the right step to take.

Mobility and movement is even more important in hardmode since you need to get to places quicker. Get wings and solve all problems – start flying and get no damage when falling down. If you’re wondering where to get a pair of wings – buy them from Dryad for 40 gold coins. Speaking about items, getting the most powerful ones is essential in beating the mechanical bosses. They are your main enemies in hardmode. If you’re playing this mode for the first time you should be already set in full health and mana (400/200). Such items as Molten Armor, Necro Armor, Night’s Edge and Sunfury are a no-brainer just don’t forget them.

Reforging? You should do it. Goblin Tinkerer does it. What is it you ask? Well it’s the process where the mentioned tinker takes your gold and gives the weapon of your choice a new modifier if it hasn’t got one OR replace the existing one. This is irreplaceable when changing biomes and fighting styles.

To sum up, you have to complete the base-game at first. After doing that, consider upping the ante with a step in to hardmode. Stay right here for more tips and tricks in Terraria. Don’t get discouraged by the name hardmode – it’s all fun when you get in the middle of it! Stay sharp!
