Whenever you talk about the best at something, you can start a debate between people with different opinions. This time, the topic for debate/discussion is Terraria’s best armor. What is the strongest armor in Terraria? How to get it? How to get any kinds of good armor in the game and find out the name of the strongest armor in Terraria. Let’s get down to business.

By just looking at numbers and stats, the immediate favorite is Molten Armor. It has 25 Total protection points and along with a 17% melee damage boost with flame particles flying around when you’re moving, that’s tough to overcome, but this wouldn’t be a debatable topic if there weren’t evidence that it might be another set of armor that takes the crown. With class separation comes a thing called utilization and you can’t just rely on the best protection or paper stats to carry you in the battlefield. You need something that is useful to you and your playstyle. For example, Necro armor is probably the only go-to armor for a ranged player because it has a 20% chance not to consume ammo, which means you save up on it. Whereas it has smaller defense stats, but the benefits outweigh the losses and a ranged player shouldn’t hesitate to take Necro armor instead of Molten.

A mage should also look the other way as there is meteor armor which bumps your magic damage up by 7%. For every piece of armor. That in total is a 21% increase in damage which is 4% more than the molten armor it also reduces the mana consumption and you can become a better mage instantly. Player playing as a summoner should use bee armor with minion damage being a key. And a balanced player should also consider something not so melee heavy, like Crimson Armor with upped health recuperation.

So we can reach the conclusion that the best armor is really all armor… Whichever one works for your class and has the best bonuses is the best and right set of armor for you.

Another question people usually ask is how to get that good armor in Terraria. Well, most of them can be crafted. For example, you need 45 Hellston Bars to fully make a set of Molten armor, 60 Demonite bars for Shadow armor, 45 Meteorite bars for Meteor armor and 30 Bee Wax from the Queen Bee boss to make the Bee armor. Getting these materials is more difficult than crafting the armor themselves. These are rare items and they can’t easily be found lying on the ground, you have to work for them which makes armor crafting and art and a great activity.

Disclaimer: we didn’t mention Hardmode armor as it is a topic for another day. Stick around!
