Football Manager 2006 made several smaller refinements to its predecessor and debuted as the best selling PC game in the UK at the time of release.

The game was also released on the on April 13th, 2006 and is notable as being the first PAL exclusively released game due to the game only being released in PAL territories on the console.

Inclusion of Harchester United

Harchester United, a fictional team from a British television production called Dream Team was included in the game. Players were able access the club in the English Premier League upon editing an XML file.
