Overview

Scrolls is a fantasy-themed game combining elements of collectible card games and strategy RPGs. It is developed by , the creators of .

On June 29th, 2015, that Scrolls would no longer receive content updates or development focus outside of balance patches. Servers will remain open until at least July 1st, 2016. The servers may remain open beyond this date if the game has generated enough revenue to support the servers staying online.

Bethesda Lawsuit

In August 2011, lawyers on behalf of , the parent company of , threatened Mojang with legal action, claiming that the title "Scrolls" could cause confusion with Bethesda's franchise, . , founder of Mojang, responded with a (supposedly) serious to settle the matter with a Mojang-vs.-Bethesda match in . Bethesda did not agree, but the two parties later out of court. Mojang retained the right to name their game "Scrolls," while Bethesda continued to hold the trademark.
