Starcraft is probably the best real-time strategy game EVER. It has highly addictive gameplay, even though it is really hard game to play. The game has 3 races: Zerg - alien insect-like race that overwhelms enemies in mass, Terran - the adaptive humans that use infantry, and Protoss - alien race with ancient technology and psionic abilities. All of the three races are very different from one another, yet all of them are fun to play. Blizzard(and map making community) has managed to keep a good balance between of three races over the years. Even though the game is almost 20 years old, it is so deep that even now probably not every trick is discovered in it. Starcraft is arguably the most most complex video game ever, there is no limit on how good you can get at it, but it requires quite a determination and has steep learning curve. The two main components in the game are micro and macro managements. Micro management is how you control your units in the battle and macro management is how you deal with your economy and build your infrastructure. Combining those two successfully with an addition of a good strategy is the key to win in Starcraft. The game is really fast paced and players that can play fast are at the advantage.
