Overview

Le Tour de France is the official console game for the 2011 event. Developed by , who also made the Pro Cycling Manager series, Le Tour de France puts players into the shoes of one of the many riders taking part in the grueling 21 stage bike race. This is the first time a Tour de France game has come out on PS3 and 360.

In the game, players will have to handle their character's fatigue and reputation during the entire event. Choosing your bike for each stage is important as you will be cycling on different terrain such as concrete or stone roads. You can coach your character during training exercises and form alliances with other racers. Players will have to use strategy to know when to attack or break away from the peleton to claim victory. The game features all the different jerseys including the coveted yellow jersey. The game, much like the actual event, takes the player from tough climbs in the Pyrenees to the final in Paris under the Arc de Triomphe. The game features all the professionals as well as a character creator.

The game was released on July 1st in Europe, the same day the actual event started.
