IL-2 Sturmovik: Battle of Stalingrad is a combat flight simulator that takes place in the skies above the Russian city of Stalingrad during one of the most famous battles of World War II. The game was developed by , the developers of , in conjunction with , the developer of previous titles and .
Battle of Stalingrad uses the same game engine produced originally by for Rise of Flight prior to 777's acquisition of the title. 777 and 1C have said they would be making improvements to the engine that would inevitably trickle back to Rise of Flight once development of Battle of Stalingrad had been completed.
