Overview

Tales of Arabian Nights returns for an authentic pinball experience.

The Pinball Arcade is a virtual pinball shell developed and published by for all devices (on February 9, 2012), all devices (on February 10, 2012), (published by via on April 4, 2012), (via on April 10, 2012), (via on April 10, 2012), (via the Mac App Store on April 16, 2012 and on December 16, 2013), (on June 25, 2013), (via Steam on November 4, 2013), (via both retail on December 10, 2013 and online on December 17, 2013), and (downloadable on November 25, 2014). The Wii U version of this game has released on April 21, 2016.

The shell contains a collection of recreated real-world pinball machines, each created by one of five massive pinball manufacturers (, , , , and ). Similar to FarSight's previous collections ( and ), each table is re-created with pinpoint precision, including the ability to mess with the internal settings (the "operators menu") of each table. Custom and challenges (both normal and "Wizard") also make a return.

FarSight utilized to fund licensing fees of certain pinball tables (such as , , , and ).

The and (via Steam) versions of the game are currently in development. The Xbox 360 version was from the Xbox Live Marketplace in July 2013, after publisher filed for bankruptcy. After years of being tangled up in issues related to the bankruptcy fallout, the game was relaunched on the XBox 360 marketplace on May 12, 2015.

The Playstation 3 version and Vita version of the game feature compatibility for table DLC.

Tables

The base game for earlier versions must be purchased and includes one table by each of the four initial manufacturers (, , , and ), with all the other tables sold in packs of 1-2 tables (or "season passes" consisting of about 15 tables). The Steam, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 versions are free to download and only contain Tales of Arabian Nights.

DLC availability varies between platforms - as a general rule, new content comes to Steam and handheld devices before it arrives on home consoles.
