Overview

Velvet Sundown is a social multiplayer roleplaying game developed by and released for PC and Mac via on July 22, 2014.

The game takes place in one of four scenarios with between four and 11 players. One scenario is a single player tutorial which teaches the basic controls and another is a cut down version of one of the other two scenarios, which rotates weekly for free players to enjoy. Premium players can play both of these scenarios, as well as the two full premium scenarios available. Each player is randomly assigned one of 11 characters, various information and items to serve as bargaining chips, as well as one or more secret goals. Players must socialize with other players to work toward achieving their goal before any other player achieves theirs. During conversations, the game uses technology to vocalize the dialogue that players type in for their characters to say.

Premium memberships are available for $5.99 per month. This gives the user full access to all scenarios, enables them to hear the synthesized speech and also provides them with an icon next to their name.
