Overview

The Agyn Peninsula, the setting of Might and Magic X

Might and Magic X Legacy is the first main-series Might and Magic game since 2002's . It takes place 10 years after the end of Might and Magic: Heroes VI (hundreds of years before Heroes V and Dark Messiah). The game was announced before PAX East 2013 and is the first Might and Magic RPG set in Ubisoft's world of Ashan rather than the old sci-fi/fantasy hybrid world featured in the games developed by New World Computing.

As per its subtitle, the game draws inspiration from previous games in the series. It is a first-person, party-based RPG featuring tile based movement and turn-based combat similar to Might and Magic III-V, but a character development system more reminiscent of VI-IX. As per series tradition, it has a heavy emphasis on exploration and combat over characters and storytelling.

An early access version of the game was put on Steam on August 19, 2013, covering the first act of the game and comprising around 20% of the game's final world. Originally, only 4 of the 12 character classes were available, but another 4 were added in a later patch.

The game was formally released for on January 23, 2014 for $25. A special edition collector's box of the game with extras such as a cloth map was released exclusively in Europe. A Digital Deluxe edition containing the soundtrack, an additional dungeon, a free copy of and free access to the game's first DLC was also made available for $30.

  • Spirit: Affects Mana

Mastery is obtained by putting a certain number of ranks into the chosen skill, and an additional 3 skill points are granted upon leveling up. Unlike previous games in the series, there are no non-combat skills (Merchant, Learning, Disarm Trap), but those bonuses are still granted by NPC hirelings.
