Depth is a first person fighting, action, shooting game.

The sides

The game is multiplayer only, so you need to join the lobby in order to be able to play. There are two main sides to take in this game. The divers and the sharks. The divers play as a group and have a common objective of transporting a piece of inventory to its destination. Sharks need to prevent that. There are two sharks that play as a team of two humans or a human player and AI shark. Humans utilize weapons while sharks focus on melee and physical attacks to kill the divers and damage their inventory.

Winners and losers

In order to prevail, one of the two sides needs to reach their goals. Either the divers successfully transport the inventory to its destination or the sharks run out of lives. Subsequently, sharks have to either destroy the inventory being transported or the divers run out of lives.

Divers collect treasures to earn gold and upgrade their weapons and skills. Sharks use upgrade points to learn skills and become more efficient and deadly predators. Whereas sharks play alone and usually stalk their enemies, divers are better off not wandering alone, because their line of sight is significantly smaller than the shark’s. Sharks are faster and can catch the divers quickly, so each party need to learn how to move around the terrain and use it to their advantage.

Cheaters and eaters

Once attacking or being attacked, the faster reactions and calm-blooded prevail, because after you see a huge shark coming out of nowhere you are almost sure to panic. Beat that and we guarantee you’ll increase the escape ratio. Sharks however, can use the terrain to their advantage also, dive at the prey once it’s in the open and won’t be able to run away quickly. There are different shark types with different traits, so play and try out all species in order to better know your style of play in Depth and what suits you.

Sum up

Explaining builds and other complex mechanics is borderline pointless. It’s better to see for yourselves rather than just read about it, so watch the two provided videos below to learn about Depth and how to play better.
