Tetradecagon is an independent twitch video game developed by Hellkitty, with music composed by Valiant. Tetradecagon was released on Steam in July 2016, with support for Windows, OS X, and Linux. Android and IOS versions are planned, but are not currently under development

Gameplay

The goal of Tetradecagon is to bounce a ball on the internal highlighted sides of a user controlled polygon. When the ball contacts an unhighlighted side, the game is considered over. In this case the player may restart from the last level achieved.

After a certain increasing interval of time, the game progresses to the next level. The polygon quickly gains a side every time the level increases, as does the ball increase in speed. The color scheme also changes from level to level, starting with red and transitioning to blue by the seventh level according to the color spectrum. After the seventh level, the game possesses a monochromatic look.

Completion of the game is awarded to the player when the 17th level has been surpassed (343 seconds in all). The first time the game is completed, the credit screen will appear upon death. There are no checkpoints on or after the completion of the final level.

The game has a competitive aspect due to its leaderboards, where players may opt to post their high score and number of deaths.

Development

Hellkitty began development on Tetradecagon in October 2015. The game quickly surpassed it's prototyping phase and was a local success. As the game's designer Hellkitty saw potential in the project, she decided to expand on the game's concept and reach to others for development. The game was posted on Steam Greenlight in late March 2016 and was later released on Steam in July 2016, with support for Windows, OS X, and Linux. Android and IOS versions are planned, but are not currently under development
