The large world of Bioshock Infinite is filled with fun things to do, collectible items to locate and well… Collect. And also with many different, wonderful and interesting secrets to find and get the knowledge that Booker needs in order to understand the Colombian society and fight his battles. There are some secrets that are fun to find and impossible to forget. In this article we will try to list all of these secrets and how to find them.

1. 1999 mode. It is an unlockable game mode that significantly ramps up the difficulty of BioShock Infinite. It is a lot harder than the ‘Hard’ difficulty setting that is available from the get go. Even the developers suggest that the gamers should hate this mode because this makes the game extremely hard to play. You can unlock this mode one of two ways: finishing the story on any difficulty or entering the code. Read our BioShock Infinite cheats/codes article to see what the combination is. The mode adds to the challenge by: reducing your ammo, health, respawn points and etc. Worth mentioning is if when you die, and you don’t have 100 dollars – you’re returned to the main menu. Challenging… Huh?

2. Disneyland mention. The map close to the “Hall of Heroes” is closely reminiscent of the map of Disney land. It can be located after getting off the skyline.

3. Original Bioshock cameos and mentions. In the cutscene when Daisy is holding a hostage (the young boy), Booker aids Elizabeth in getting in to a vent just as Big Daddy helps Little Sister getting in to the vents in the first Bioshock. Also, in the beginning of the game, baptizer says the word combo: “Is it someone new?” , the exact same words said by Splicer in the beginning of the first Bioshock.

4. Secret music. If you think that at the silent moments of the game there is actual silence, guess again. There is a slowed down song in the background and if you speed it up, you can hear voices on this mysterious musical creation.

5. An extra scene after credits. Just like in Marvel movies, don’t quit right after credits because you get an extra scene + the ability to explore Booker’s room. Worth waiting.

6. Movie references. There are numerous hints and visual quotations from real life movies that resemble the absurdity of Colombia and together, highlighting the mysteries behind the floating city. There is a nod to the 1949 film “I married a Communist” when a character says: “…Now I don’t want to be character out of ‘Imarried a Vox Populi’, now do I? There’s also one phrase that Booker says that gives a hint about Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back.

In conclusion, there are more than a few Easter eggs and secrets in BioShock Infinite. There isn’t enough time and words to list them all, but we believe that this list gives you the understanding of what to expect.
