Overview

CastleStorm is a 2.5D side-scrolling action real-time strategy game developed by and published by for the (via ) on May 29, 2013. It was later self-published for the (via on July 29, 2013), (via on November 5, 2013), (via on November 5, 2013), and (via eShop on December 26, 2013).

As either or , players must use a variety of upgradable projectiles (for the player-controlled ), AI units, and spells (as well as their player-controlled hero) to defend their pre-built against swarms of invaders while, in most cases, attempting to the enemy castle.

The game's campaign, which slowly introduces players to different units, spells, and projectiles, follows the story of Sir Gareth, Protector of the Realm, as he tries to reclaim the Kingdom's Teardrop Gem.
