 Development
 Avencast began as a Diablo clone while also taking ideas form other popular games in the genre. It was the company's first game and was under development for close to four years. The team had little to no formal background in game development and only consisted of a few people.
 
Release
The game was released with a moderate reception, IGN gave it a 7.0 while Gamespot awarded it a 7.5.
