Overview

Madden NFL 97 is a football simulation game the seventh core entry in EA's series, endorsed and featuring sports commentator John Madden. The game was the first in the series to be released on the 32-bit generation, specifically the Sony PlayStation and Sega Saturn. It also saw releases for the SNES and Genesis like its antecedents. It's also the last Madden to be released on the Game Boy.

It was also the first Madden game to include the Baltimore Ravens, which were established the same year. Similar to prior games, the player can select any of the active teams from the then-present season of the NFL as well as various "classic" teams from different points in NFL history.
