One Piece: Pirate Warriors 3 is the third entry in the franchise. Like the previous entries, Pirate Warriors 3 features 's style gameplay. Players control characters in the One Piece universe and defeat hordes of enemies, while occasionally encountering bosses.

Unlike , which featured an original story for the game, Pirate Warriors 3 will retell the events of the manga and anime, beginning with Luffy's departure from his village all the way to the current arc, Dressrosa.
