Japanese RPG (JRPG)

JRPG (Japanese Role-Playing Game) is a subgenre of a role-playing video game genre which is typical to a Japanese Role-Playing game market. JRPGs differ from the traditional western role-playing video game. JRPGs are generally more linear in nature. They sometimes don’t have a character creation system and sometimes players can’t even name one, because in JRPGs characters are fixed with their own story and personality. A typical JRPG features a story and plot of grand and worldwide scale and offers limited freedom unlike the traditional western role-playing video games (WRPGS). As the name implies, JRPGs originate from Japan and there they have the largest fan base and a fan following.
