For hunters by nature there are two types of bows in FC 4. The traditional Recurve Bow that is returning from FC3 and the new and powerful Auto Crossbow. The Recurve bow hasn’t changed from FC3 a lot and still is extremely fun. Available right from the get go at trading posts, the Recurve Bow can also be found for free in the first mission for Amita or at Yalung’s Teeth. It’s a better version of the Hunter Bow (the same thing, just worse), and kills human enemies with 2 hits, 1 if they’re not wearing armor. Although heavily armored enemies can take more hits if you’re unlucky. If you upgrade your bow with a new sight or flaming arrows, you can one shot enemies easily. Fire arrows are not only fun, but also a very useful weapon against heavy and sturdy enemies – flamers, gunners and etc. What’s best is that when you’re in stealth and you shoot arrows, enemies can’t trace you so you can have some very very nasty fun.

The Auto Crossbow is a special weapon. A quiet weapon and capable of one shotting enemies early in the game. It is unlocked after successfully finishing the City of Pain mission and costs 105 000 Kyrati money. Another way you can get it is by liberating 17 bell towers and Longinus gives it to Ajay as a gift. How it differs from the recurve bow is that Auto crossbow’s primary function is to kill from close range. It is also able to fire rapidly, thus handing the ability to take out multiple nearby enemies. It also has a much higher damage rate than the recurve bow.

Be careful with these bows as they require skill and knowledge of what you’re doing. If so, prepare to have some fun. Hope you’ve enjoyed our article on bows in FC 4 and we hope to see you here even more. Cheers!
